Guide to ECA

How to be a bidder (Internet / Floor/ Telephonic) at ECA

To become a bidder with ECA, you first need to know that ECA provides a very unique opportunity to bid for an item either online, from the floor or over telephone. You can be an Internet Bidder, a Floor Bidder or a Telephonic Bidder for the same auction and same lot.

To be an Internet Bidder, a Floor Bidder or a Telephonic Bidder you have to collect the Bidder Registration Form through any of the following ways:
  1. You will find the Bidder Registration Form in the Catalogue

  2. You will find the Bidder Registration Form in the "Guide to ECA" book

  3. You may register for free at our portal www.emamichisel.com using any of your valid E-mail IDs and download the Bidder Registration Form.

  4. For a Floor bidder or a Telephonic bidder it is not mandatory to register with www.emamichisel.com, though we always encourage you to do the same as it is free. Registering through the portal allows you to gain in knowledge about today's art scenario through various links on the site itself.

  5. To justify your credential as a valid bidder you have to submit any of the following:

    1. A certificate of standing from your banker.

    2. Two (2) referrals

    3. As earnest deposit, 10% of the maximum amount you wish to bid.

    4. Send this along with your completed Bidder's Registration Form, by courier or deliver in person to :
      Emami Chisel Art Pvt. Ltd.
      Address : 687 Anandapur E.M. Bypass Kolkata 700107 W. B. India
      Phone : +91 33 40113182/ 3183
      Fax : +91 33 40113189

  6. Acceptance or rejection of your application will be at the sole discretion of ECA.

  7. For an Internet Bidder the same username and password combination will grant him unlimited access to the portal and so he/ she can bid for any Lot of that Auction in accordance with the approved bid limit.

  8. An Internet Bidder may place a Bid for any Lot or set his Upper Limit Bid for a Lot through the "Proxy Bid" facility from the portal itself after login as an unlimited user or Internet Bidder.

  9. A Floor Bidder or a Telephone Bidder can bid in that auction in person or over telephone.

  10. For any reason if a Floor Bidder or a Telephone Bidder cannot participate in any auction he/ she can fill up an "Absentee Bid Form" available from the same sources and set his/her Upper Bid Limit for a Lot.

  11. In the event of your having furnished an earnest deposit and your application being rejected, or in the case of an unsuccessful bid, your deposit money will be refunded within 15 days of the auction being concluded.
